The Inspire Yoga Team has been assembled and we can’t wait for you to meet them! In this final blog post, you’ll be meeting the instructors who will be Inspire-ing Grapevine to get on their mats. This week, we meet three instructors who will be sharing their talents with us. Welcome, Ashlea Sovetts, Jenifer Cohen, and Christian Stovall.
Ashlea is a multi-faceted dance artist and yogi. She values building strength and mobility, deepening the use of the breath and incorporating mindfulness on and off the mat. During her classes, she emphasizes a somatic approach by incorporating energetic breath, spiraling fluidity, and awareness of one’s presence in relation to others.
Ashlea, originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, graduated Cum Laude from Winthrop University and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Dance. After graduation, she received her 200 HR Registered Yoga Teacher Certification in 2015 in Raleigh, NC and has been teaching ever since. Currently, she is the Recruitment Coordinator and a MFA in Dance candidate at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.
Jenifer grew up in a small town in Delano, Minnesota. With the desire to leave the snowy winters, she moved to Phoenix, AZ where she attended Arizona State University. After college, she began looking for a way to release the daily stress from working a 9-5 job. A good friend invited her to yoga and halfway through the first class, she knew she had found something that would change her life forever! Yoga has guided Jenifer through some difficult times and challenged her to become the person she was meant to be.
After experiencing classes and the wisdom of Stephanie Garcia, Anton Mackey, John Salisbury, Donny Starkins, and many more, she knew she wanted to teach. She finished her 200 hour yoga certification in 2014 at Urban Yoga in Phoenix. She taught in Arizona for a few years before moving to Dallas.
Jenifer hopes to spread the love she has found through yoga and, after having a baby in January, she is beyond excited to get back into the studio and guide others. In Jenifer’s classes, you can expect to smile and have fun, as well as be challenged. She likes to remind her students that they are here for the yoga practice; not to be yoga perfect.
Christian is a 200 hour graduate of the Inspire Yoga Teacher Training program and teaches Inspire and Slow Flow classes at the Highland Village Studio. A lifelong athlete of tennis, soccer, and all water-sports, his classes focus on strength and flexibility while using the breath to bring balance to his student’s practice. After finding that balance through practice, he strives to bring that awareness to his student’s through a creative class, mixing his flow style with his love of music. From that first class nearly 20 years ago, he knew he had found that missing element from not only his physical fitness but also from his mental and spiritual journey.
Chrisitan is a self-described foodie and world traveler; and when not practicing or teaching yoga, you will find him at a kickboxing gym or standup paddleboarding on a local lake. He lives and works in Flower Mound where he does his best to keep up with his very active teenage son.
We can’t wait for you to join us in the studio when Inspire Yoga opens at the end of this month! You can register for classes during our soft opening week of August 20th where we will be running a modified schedule or during our Grand Opening week starting August 27th.
