Is it just us, or does it feel like time passes too quickly this time of year? Busy fall schedules and activities are underway, the weather begins to cool down (or at least we cross our fingers it does), and the holidays are fast approaching already. This time of year can be a whirlwind, but it’s also a wonderful time to practice presence to really savor all the change as the seasons turn.
No matter what season of life you might find yourself in – whether you would prefer time to speed up or slow down – there is always much goodness available to us when we really focus on the moment at hand.
Begin by finding a comfortable seat, elevating your hips slightly so the knees can relax below the waistline. Find a nice tall spine and close the eyes down. Take a few breaths just as you are.
Inhale: I am Exhale: here.
Take a few cleansing breaths in through the nose, out through the mouth. The inhales allowing you to take in this moment, the exhales helping you to release whatever is behind or beyond this exact moment.
Inhale: I am Exhale: here.
Allow your breath to support your body as rain to the earth. Nourishing every crevice, supporting your infrastructure, strengthening and sharpening your thoughts on all that is here with you in this moment.
Inhale: I am Exhale: here.
For a moment, imagine you could rise above the physical situation ad look down on all that is your life right now…the good, the bad, the neutral – without judgment or a plan.
Inhale: I am Exhale: here.
Invite in a feeling of gratitude to take over as you feel the heart beating right beneath the surface and the breath moving in and through your entire being.
Inhale: I am Exhale: here.
Stay here as long as you need. Allowing the natural rhythms to support your life. This moment is enough. You are exactly where you need to be right here, right now. Namaste.
